    The season has started!

There has not been a lot of updates these past months. I have mainly been at home having fun with friends, climbing and enjoying Norway at it’s finest.

On the 15th of August I moved back down to Odense to pursue my volleyball dream again. Not quite knowing if I was up for it this year.
The team has started training more serious, with three morning practices and a weekly training diary dedicated to becoming stronger. And it seems to me like it is working.

Before the season started the team needed to find a couple of new players. Chris signed with Middelfart, Jordan moved back to California, Daniel signed with Wuppertal and Joey signed with the professional team Duren in Germany.

Early this summer we signed the two twins Kristian and Hafsteinn (middle blockers) from Island and at the end of the summer we signed the setter Kasey.
During the last month we have had a lot of players on try out, but none really showed us they could help make the team better until Brett (outside) and Paul (opposite) arrived. During the try outs we also signed Josh from Australia as an outside hitter. And with Flemming and Schøler on board our team for this season is now complete.

Our first match this season was not the most well played match. Spentrup has a good team, but on paper our team is both taller and should be more talented. We ended up behind in every game, but managed to finish each game with a win. My coach Mikkel wrote a little bit on his blog about the game.
I started the match with four errors, but ended the match in a much better way.

The second match was yesterday and it was our first big test. Hvidovre came fourth last year, and have supplemented their team with several players including Geovan Santos, a former Marienlyst player.
The first game started off just like against Spentrup. We came 1-2 points behind and stayed there until the very end of the game, when we just snuck past and managed a 28-26 win.
The second game was close as well, but at the end we started playing more together and managed to a big gap and ended it 25-18.
In the third set Hvidovre lost all hope. We got an early lead and increased it all the way. 25-13 and a solid 3-0 win.

My performance was much closer to what I have managed to do in Norway the last couple of years: 21 points, with 16 kills, three aces and four blocks (i think that was the stats). I am really happy with my game, but it must also be said that having Josh up there with me helps me a lot! Out of 23 sets, I got a two man block three or four times.

Tv2Fyn was also there to cover the match.
